Miss McMullen's College & Career Readiness Class

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

Hello! I would like to formally introduce myself to you. My name is Amanda McMullen and I am your child’s 5th & 6th grade College & Career Readiness teacher this year.

I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of the South Beloit School District and more specifically the 5th & 6th grade team here at Blackhawk Elementary. I am looking forward to encouraging, motivating, inspiring, teaching, empowering, and assisting your child in becoming a successful student this school year. In CCR Class we will be exploring many different types of colleges and careers that may interest students in the future.

I graduated from Rockford College in 2012 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education as well as a Minor in Special Education. I graduated in 2015 with a Masters in Education: Curriculum & Technology. This will be my 10th year as a teacher here at Blackhawk Elementary School. I also run the scoreboard for all of the Girls Volleyball and Girls & Boys Basketball games… Go Sobos!

To tell you a little bit about my personal life… I have lived in Rockford, Illinois my entire life but moved here to South Beloit about 5 years ago to be closer to work. I graduated in 2008 from Jefferson High School in Rockford. While attending Jefferson, I participated in many sports such as: Varsity soccer, basketball, and poms. I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends. Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are to read, craft, bake/cook, and watch movies

If you have any questions or concerns, I would be more than happy to address them. Feel free to email me at [email protected]. You could also call my direct phone line: (779) 203-9562 Ext. 3205. If you would like to meet in person, feel free to contact me and we can set up a time.

Sincerely,

Miss McMullen
