Hello! I’m Mrs. Hanley, and I am so excited to have your student in the 2019-2020 school year! I am the Special Education Teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. I am in the Junior High on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I am in Blackhawk on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I also help students in the classroom that may need extra support in order to be successful.
I grew up in Freeport, Illinois and graduated from Aquin Central Catholic High School. After High School, I attended The University of Iowa pursuing a degree in Psychology. I transferred to Northern Illinois University to complete my degree in Psychology and History with a Teacher Certification in Social Studies for grades 6-12. In total, I have been teaching for 8 years. I began my teaching career as a 6th-8th Grade Social Studies Teacher at a Catholic School in Rockford. During this time, I completed my endorsement in Special Education. I began teaching Special Education at South Beloit in 2017.
I have been married to my husband, Matt, since 2013. We have 2 children, Jackson (4) and Addison (2), and they keep us very busy! I love any water activities, spending time with family and friends, traveling and most sports.
