Social Work

Hello, SOBO Family!

My name is Rachel Blomquist. I am the school social worker for South Beloit’s Blackhawk Elementary students. I have been working as a school social worker for South Beloit School District since 2015.  Prior to my career here, I worked in foster care at Children’s Home & Aid for 10 years. I have also worked at Rosecrance in the substance abuse treatment facility. I have my bachelors degree in Psychology and a masters degree in Social Work with a specialization in schools. I am also a certified instructor for CPI (crisis prevention intervention). Through these experiences, I have gained knowledge and skills to better serve the students here at South Beloit.

A little more personal information about me..

I married my middle school/high school sweetheart. We have been married for almost 10 years!  We have 2 amazing boys that keep us very busy. Our life is filled with football, baseball, soccer, and wrestling practices/games/meets. The wrestling piece does not stop when we get home and I keep very busy with picking up nerf gun bullets in my free time.  Some of my favorites are; watching & cheering on the Chicago Bears (it will get better for us..it has to), attending my son’s sporting events, playing sand volleyball, coaching volleyball, playing games (I am a bit competitive), having fires and watching movies with the family, on-line shopping, and sometimes pretending to be crafty.  I am very passionate about social work and I feel very blessed to have an opportunity to support the student’s here at

South Beloit. Please feel free to reach out to me with

any questions or concerns.
