Miss McMullen's Science & Social Studies Class

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

Hello! I would like to formally introduce myself to you. My name is Amanda McMullen and I am your child’s 5th grade Science & Social Studies teacher this year.

I graduated from Rockford College in 2012 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education as well as a Minor in Special Education. I graduated in 2015 with a Masters in Education: Curriculum & Technology. This will be my 7th year as a teacher here at Blackhawk Elementary School. I also coach 6th grade Girls Volleyball and 7th grade Girls Basketball… Go Sobos!

To tell you a little bit about my personal life… I have lived in Rockford, Illinois my entire life but moved here to South Beloit 2 years ago to be closer to work. I graduated in 2008 from Jefferson High School in Rockford. While attending Jefferson, I participated in many sports such as: Varsity soccer, basketball, and poms. I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends. Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are to read, craft, bake/cook, and watch movies.

I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of the South Beloit School District and more specifically the 5th grade team here at Blackhawk Elementary. I am looking forward to encouraging, motivating, inspiring, teaching, empowering, and assisting your child in becoming a successful student this school year.

If you have any questions or concerns, I would be more than happy to address them. Feel free to email me at amcmullen@sb320.org. You could also call my direct phone line: (779) 203-9562 Ext. 3205. You can reach me before school from 7:50-8:15am and after school from 3:30-4:00pm everyday. If you would like to meet in person, feel free to contact me and we can set up a time.
